Amazing experience!
Wow! What an amazing place, like being in a museum and restaurant at the same time! We spent the week in Carmel, and Carmel’s Bistro Giovanni quickly became our favorite place. The atmosphere is amazing, the food is excellent, and the service is outstanding. The walls are covered/painted with murals by a leading contemporary artist, Blagojce, in the Impressionist style and includes most of the characters from the Impressionist movement in Paris. We had fun guessing who the characters were in the mural: Degas, Monet, Toulouse Lautrec, and more. It is like dining with the famous characters of the 1800’s! On the other wall is a perspective of the downtown boulevard in Paris.
Every meal was delicious. The staff was exceptionally kind and helpful. The owner is a gentleman and takes time to talk with his guests. You can tell the owner really cares about his staff, and they enjoy working there. Great atmosphere!
We were told that the ceiling and other walls will be painted as well, and if you are lucky enough, you will see the artist actually working there!

BEST gluten free Italian food I have ever experienced!!!!
We’ve been going to Carmel for years and this year we stumbled across Bistro Giovanni. Firok and Kelly are with out question the best hosts we have ever experienced. Nothing was to much trouble.My wife is Celiac and we always play the game of ”will I get sick if people don’t understand about the effects of Gluten”. All of the staff were well aware of the issue and after speaking to Kelly all my wife’s worries were put to bed. The food is incredible, The service is phenomenal, and we were made to feel so welcome that we went back every night. We are looking forward to visiting again soon.
